hi I’m Jaime! maker, wife & mama behind Raising up Rubies ♥

no religion here just a girl who is redeemed, bought & paid for by a Savior who gave His life for me. i have a creative soul with a love for bright colors & new ideas.  my love for handmade started when i was a little girl…  my mom would give me her old Good Housekeeping magazines i would cut and glue pictures onto construction paper. i thought for sure that would be my job someday… a professional picture cutter-outter-gluer-on-paper person. you’ll find me in my studio here most days making new things and packing up lots of #happymail

I am so happy you’re here! hoping that you’ll find something that inspires the inner-crafty in you and more importantly that you’d know you are searched & known by a loving God who gave His very life for yours ♥

  1. oh my goodness! i just love your blog and with a craft room like that you will have thousands of followers in no time! i'm not sure where you live but i'm sure it's no where near me (i live in atlanta and there is a chic-fil-a on every street!) but if we did live close i would make it my mission to be your best friend and see you everyday so that i could craft in that amazing craft room of yours! (and maybe make you help me focus and make one of my own!) (i'm pretty sure i'm add too! i probably have more than 14 projects going and continue to get sidetracked!) (and i do have a craft room but right now looks more like a junk room with some sewing supplies thrown in, no organization at all!)btw, your family is gorgeous especially those beautiful rubies! :)hugs, robin 🙂

  2. Hi Jaime, so glad I found you right away, thanks to Pinterest (which I'm a newbie at, but it's oh-so-adicting) I pinned your craft room, and this morning it had over 150 repins!! egads! Looking forward to your blog and getting to know you and your lovely family. I am an ex-blogger mom of 5 (no longer had the time for it) but I still love to craft, mostly sew. I've done many crafts over years, scrapbooking, spinning yarn, knitting, I'm an excellent crocheter but rarely do it anymore, but my first love was sewing. I've recently scaled way down and gone back to just sewing. (okay, mostly) We are Christian homeschoolers living in Vermont. Just wanted to extend a friendly hello ;o) See you here and on Pinterest! 3. What a beautifull blog…a beauty-full life! Thank you for sharing it! I also have two rubies…one 13 (whoa! How'd that happen so fast!). And one who is 7! They are dear friends…so thankful for that! My oldest is a sweet 15 year old boy who loves his mama…really thankful for that too! We are a homeschooling family in NC…near lots of Chik-fil-a's, which we visit almost weekly! Wish we could share with you! Love all the scripture in the intro of yourself! Those passages are dear to me! I hope to follow your blog and Pinterest regularly. I love to craft but have difficulty finding and making time. Schooling takes up most of our day, but summer's coming and the girls and I are making crafty plans. Our craft room is a small living room space which doubles as a school room…so lots of books and curricula! Hoping to organize again soon! How old are your sweet girls!Much grace and peace to you in our Savior Christ Jesus,Carla Stout

  10. Hey Jaime! I just found your blog through Iheartorganizing.blogspot. I have fell instantly in love. I have to say, just browsing through your blog, I'm brought to joyful tears at how open and passionate you are about God! It's hard to find a person that talks about Him and His awesomeness, as much as I do.

  12. Hi, Jaime. I was recently introduced to your blog via another blog (can't remember now if it was Centsational Girl or Young House Love or The Money Pit, etc.), and I really like your approach and what you seem to be about. A lot of your random facts could also apply to me (except I never spoke French for sure, but I do have a love of parenthetical additions to my written conversations.) I find myself at the beginning of a spiritual journey despite having been raised in a “religious” Southern Baptist household. Turns out I absorbed a lot of religion, but not so much spirituality, and I really appreciate hearing from someone who is so honest about her struggles to maintain focus on God and surrender to him (as with your recent post about the “to-do list fairy”.) So, thank you for what you are doing and sharing your story with the rest of us. I look forward to getting to know you better via future posts.Sincerely,Valerie

  13. Jamie,Thanks for your blog. It's so encouraging to see young moms that understand Godly values and are intent on “raising up rubies”. I only wish I had the opportunity to connect with others online when I was raising mine. God will honor your desire to share with others. You never know who you are being an encouragement to.I also took a peek at your beautiful new Etsy shop. It is lovely and I'm sure will be a terrific success.

  19. I just found your blog through a link from someone posting at Nesting Place's favorite things party (they posted Raising Up Rubies as their new to them favorite etsy shop) When I saw Rochester, NY I had to click on the link to your blog because I am from Rochester, but currently living in TX. I miss Wegmans, maybe like you miss Chick Fil A. I love what I see.

  22. Jaime,My newest issue of BH&G arrived this afternoon and I flipped to the back page first, as I always do, eagerly anticipating the inspiring DIY project that might be featured – and when I saw that you were from Rochester, NY (not to mention creator of a beyond awesome craft room!), my heart leaped. It leapt again when I went to your blog and discovered that you are a fellow Christian. My husband just accepted a job offer in Rochester and we are moving there from Pennsylvania in a few months. It is going to be so hard to leave my family and my home, and it just puts my heart at ease to know that there are people like you living in my new home city :-). Sounds like you are very busy raising two beautiful girls and crafting up a storm, but if you have a minute and could drop me an email (I am at wheatsmith@hotmail.com), I would be soooooo appreciative. We're in the process of trying to find neighborhoods and churches, and since we don't know a soul that lives there, I'm reaching out to anyone I can! Thanks so much – your home and family are beautiful!
